Produced for the University of Maine’s Division of Lifelong Learning, this fictional short film was created to inspire adults—whether they had some college experience or none at all—to enroll in UMaine Online and complete their degree or attain a professional degree.
In 2025, DLL partnered with Story Stroll to develop a 30-second broadcast and social media commercial designed to move beyond traditional advertising and connect on an emotional level. Rather than focus on features or flexibility, we centered the story on something universal: growth and parenthood.
The film follows a father and daughter graduating side by side. She earns her undergraduate degree. He earns his graduate degree. Through the daughter’s perspective, we witness pride—not just in her own accomplishment, but in her father’s decision to return to school after sending her off to college. His pursuit of self-improvement becomes a shared milestone, transforming graduation into a family legacy.
The spot aired regionally on television and across social platforms, extending its reach to adult learners throughout the region.
